The National Service Scheme (NSS), a flagship initiative of the Indian government, is a student-centered program that promotes social responsibility and personality development through community service. Established in 1969, NSS aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice by engaging students in hands-on activities that address local needs and challenges. Through participation in NSS programs, students develop essential life skills like teamwork, leadership, and social awareness, while making a positive impact on the communities they serve.
